Popular Nollywood actor and movie director, Azeez Ololade Ijaduade, has been reportedly shot by the officers of the Nigeria Police Force and he is currently battling for his life at the hospital.

Details about the incident remain sketchy at the moment, but Punch reported, citing an Instagram story posted by Ijaduade’s colleague, Abiodun Adebayo, that the incident happened late Saturday at Iperu, Ogun state.

“Please, we need help in Iperu. My director, Azeez Ijaduade, @kingzeez1, was shot by a Nigeria Police personnel,” Mr Adebanjo, with the handle @iamabiodunadebanjo posted at midnight.

According to Mr Adebayo, the actor is currently admitted at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital as his medical condition remains unknown as of press time.

Peoples Gazette contacted Ogun State Police PPRO Omolola Odutola for comment on the incident but has yet to receive a response as of the time of filing this report.

Indiscriminate killings of innocent civilians by trigger-happy police officers are still prevalent despite persistent calls from Nigerians and civil groups to put an end to the barbaric acts.

In October, a Lagos court sentenced Drambi Vandi, the police officer involved in the killing of Bolanle Raheem, a lawyer, to death by hanging.
