The Adamawa government recently procured 31 additional mass transit buses to ease commuting in the state, said Neido Kufulto, the information commissioner.

In an interview in Yola on Monday, Ms Kufulto said this was part of the efforts of the administration of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri to ease the transportation challenges of the people.

“We are fully determined and committed to alleviating the suffering occasioned by the removal of the petroleum subsidy,” she said.

The commissioner said the vehicles were procured from Innoson Nigeria Ltd, an indigenous motor manufacturing company, as part of the government’s resolve to promote patronage of local content.

“We had earlier purchased 10 units of the vehicle, which are already shuttling within the metropolis at affordable transport charges,” she added.

Ms Kufulto assured that the administration was committed to reinvigorating the transport sector in the state, as in developed countries.
