Adamawa governor constitutes 21-member committee on post-flood recovery

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has constituted a 21-member relief and post-recovery committee in response to the recent flooding in Yola South-Local Government Area of the state.
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Yola.
Recall that the flood which occurred on Sunday claimed 23 lives and displaced many.
The committee which is to be chaired by the state deputy governor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, also has the Secretary to the State Government, Awwal Tukur, as member.
The committee comprises representatives from various government agencies, security forces, and community leaders.
Mr Fintiri urged the committee to identify measures to bring succour to the affected communities and develop strategies for post-flood recovery.
He reassured the public that the government would do its best to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents.
He stated, “We are committed to providing relief and support to the affected communities and working towards sustainable solutions to mitigate future disasters.’’
The governor further advised the committee to ensure fairness, transparency, and diligence in its work, with the goal of bringing relief and hope to the affected communities.
