Development projects worth more than $1.4 million will be launched in Afghanistan’s eastern Parwan province next year, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Friday.

The projects would be on canals, reservoirs, dams, and other infrastructure facilities in several districts of Parwan province.

The report said the area’s capital city is about 55 kilometres north of the national capital, Kabul.

The Afghan caretaker government has launched a series of infrastructure projects, including building water canals, highways, and solar power systems.

These projects were done across the war-ravaged country to create job opportunities and alleviate poverty.
