Agency tasks Kwara civil servants on values, work ethics
Civil Servants in Kwara State have been advised to promote lofty principles and be more dedicated to their statutory responsibilities to add values into the system.
The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KW-GIS), Abdulkareem Suleiman, gave the advice on Friday at the maiden refresher programme organised by the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Kwara chapter.
The programme was held in collaboration with the Directorate of Physical Planning and Development Control, KW-GIS, for physical planners in the state.
The chairman, represented by the service’s Acting Administrative Secretary, Motunrayo Adaran, commended the organisers and described the programme as timely.
According to him, it will afford participants the opportunity to refresh and improve work ethics in public service.
Mr Suleiman admonished the participants to be attentive and take cognisance of whatever they would be taught.
He congratulated them for being part of the programme meant to enhance their optimal performance in carrying out their civic duties.
In their separate goodwill messages, the state Surveyor General, Ibrahim Mohammed; Director, Urban and Regional Planning, Alao Fatai; and Director, Physical Planning and Development Control, Sunday Idowu, appreciated the organisers for making the programme worthwhile.
They charged the participants to make proper use of the new knowledge they acquired and apply it at their various places of assignments.
The Deputy Director, Development Control, Abdulhakeem Abdulsalam, appreciated the office of the head of service for its efforts aimed at refreshing the minds of participants on the civil service rules and imploring them to judiciously imbibe the spirit of workmanship at all times.
The programme held at the KW-GIS conference room in Ilorin was well attended by the unit heads of the four directorates of the agency and other workers.
