Rex Heuermann, the suspect arrested last year over the killing of four women in Gilgo Beach serial killings, has been indicted on more murder charges in the death of two other ladies.

The 60-year-old has been awaiting trial in jail for almost a year after pleading not guilty on all four charges relating to the killings of the first four victims whose bodies were found along Ocean Parkway by Gilgo Beach.

On Thursday, Mr Heuermann was charged with the death of Jessica Taylor, whose partial remains were found near Gilgo Beach in 2011 and the killing of 28-year-old Sandra Costilla — her remains were found in 1993 in the Hamptons, the New York Times reported.

Prosecutors have now turned their attention to six other victims, which include four women, a man and a toddler whose remains were found near Gilgo Beach like Mr Heuermann’s first four alleged victims.

Ms Costilla was found by two hunters in the woods in 1993, the Times reported, citing the prosecutors. She was partially nude with “numerous sharp force injuries” to her face, torso, breasts, thigh and vaginal area.

The injuries were consistent with the kind exhibited in pornographic images that were found in Mr Heuermann’s possession when he was arrested.

Meanwhile, Ms Taylor’s dismembered body was found in 2011 in a secluded road by a dog walker.
