The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company has said another system collapse led to loss of electricity supply in the South-East on Monday.

The Head, Corporate Communications of EEDC, Emeka Ezeh, said in a statement in Enugu that the collapse occurred at 2:41 a.m on Monday.

It was gathered that this was the sixth time the zone experienced power grid collapse in 2024.

“This resulted in the loss of supply to all our interface TCN stations. Consequently, we were unable to provide service to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states. However, the situation is gradually being resolved as we received test supply at Awada TCN station, Onitsha, at 7:30a.m. We are in constant communication with the relevant authorities awaiting full restoration of supply by the National Control Centre, Osogbo. Thank you for your usual understanding and cooperation,” he said.
