The All Progressives Congress candidate in the November 8 Anambra governorship election, Nicholas Ukachukwu, has unveiled a bold and optimistic vision for the state.

He pledged to strengthen security and unlock economic growth if elected governor.

In a statement on Sunday, Mr Ukachukwu said his mission was to build an Anambra where young people return home to thrive and contribute meaningfully to development.

“I will attract our youths back home through industrial development and sustainable job creation. We will address the root causes of insecurity by providing real opportunities and purposeful engagement,” he said.

Mr Ukachukwu emphasised that Anambra had enormous potential for growth, but that unlocking it required a secure and business-friendly environment.

“Our goal is to create a peaceful and stable state where investors feel confident and industries flourish. We are coming in with a well-prepared, comprehensive plan,” he stated.

If elected, he said his administration would focus on four key pillars: security, electricity, healthcare, and job creation.

“I am committed to transforming Anambra into a secure, peaceful, and prosperous environment, one that inspires hope and uplifts every citizen,” he said.

Mr Ukachukwu also highlighted the need for a more responsive and transparent government, pledging to offer leadership that reflected integrity, inclusiveness, and results.

He said every community in the state would experience tailored development based on its unique strengths and opportunities.

“We will replace the burden of uncoordinated taxes with a simplified, business-friendly system that empowers entrepreneurs and small businesses to grow,” he added.

He called for a new era of transformative leadership anchored on inclusive security, infrastructure expansion, and citizen welfare.

“No society thrives without peace and stability. Within the first 90 days, we will take decisive steps to restore public confidence and promote harmony across the state,” he said.

Mr Ukachukwu also outlined plans to harness Anambra’s rich natural gas reserves to power industrial growth.

“Electricity is the heartbeat of any economy. We will develop a people-first energy model by tapping into our gas reserves to generate power. This infrastructure will be community-owned, not monopolised by the government,” he said.

On healthcare, he promised a robust upgrade of the state’s medical facilities.

“Each community will have a fully equipped health centre, while all 21 Local Government Areas will have a general hospital supported by qualified healthcare professionals.

“Healthcare is not a privilege but a right. Our administration will guarantee access to both basic and specialist healthcare services for all,” he declared.

Mr. Ukachukwu stated that he would bring unwavering commitment to the people of Anambra, promising to lead with purpose, compassion, and vision.
