The All Progressives Congress has hailed the judgement of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal on the governorship election in Zamfara and urged its members to remain calm and be law-abiding.

The Zamfara chapter of the APC said this in a statement issued on Thursday by its spokesman, Yusuf Idris.

The party welcomed the judgment, adding it will lead to the return of its “stolen mandate.”

The appellate court on Thursday declared the Zamfara governorship election inconclusive and ordered a rerun in three local government areas.

The statement said the party viewed the judgement as an honour from God and expressed optimism that “very soon, Bello Matawalle will be back to his rightful position as the governor of the state.”

It added, “We are confident that our stolen mandate will soon be returned.”

To the party supporters, APC urged them to remain peaceful and exhibit a high sense of discipline.

“We wish to appeal to our members, especially the youth who have remained patient, calm and law-abiding amidst the intimidation, harassment, threats and so on, to continue to display high morals and discipline,” said the APC statement.”

It added, “God’s time is always the best, and we promise to continue to champion the cause of peace, harmony and development of the state.”
