APC lawmaker tells Muslims to pray for divine intervention as insecurity worsens

Aminu Jaji (APC-Zamfara) has called on Muslims to use the Ramadan period to pray for Allah’s intervention in ending security challenges in the country.

Mr Jaji, representing the Kaura-Namoda/Birnin-Magaji federal constituency, made the call in Gusau on Tuesday while presenting some food items to the less privileged to help them during Ramadan.

“We should support government at all levels to succeed in restoring of peace and stability in our communities. Ramadan is a month of blessing that Allah answers prayers. We should intensify prayers seeking Allah’s intervention in ending security,” Mr Jaji said.

The lawmaker called on residents to desist from politicising security matters and called for unity among stakeholders to address the challenges bedevilling the state.

Mr Jaji also announced the donation of 35 trucks of assorted grains to the state’s less privileged as part of a Ramadan package.

The chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) elders committee, Lawal Makaman-Kaura, described the lawmaker’s intervention as a welcome development.

Mr Makaman-Kaura said the gesture would provide succour to various categories of the needy.

Meanwhile, Abubakar Aliyu, chairman of the state distribution committee, confirmed the lawmaker’s donation of 35 trucks of assorted grains, including Rice, Millet, and Sugar.

Mr Aliyu said the beneficiaries would comprise orphans, disabled persons, women and youth groups, and APC executives in the 147 wards across the 14 LGAs.

Other beneficiaries, he said, would include state and local government executives of the party.

He disclosed that the party leadership at the wards and LGAs had been given the responsibility of distributing the items across the state.
