• September 17, 2025

The Army command in Delta has assured the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) of sustained collaboration and support in safeguarding lives and property in the state.

Brig.-Gen. Moronfolu Shonibare, commander of 63 Brigade/Sector 1, Joint Task Force, Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), gave the assurance while receiving the new commandant of NSCDC in the state, Chinedu Igbo, who paid him a courtesy visit on Wednesday in Asaba.

He said the Brigade under his watch would continue to build on existing collaboration, especially in terms of joint operations and training, as well as responding to critical operational exigencies when the need arises.

Earlier, Mr Igbo said the visit was to register his presence and acquaint himself with the leadership of 63 Brigade.

He commended the Brigade for the level of success recorded in the state and further solicited support and collaboration, given the critical role NSCDC plays in supporting the Army and other security agencies in the state.
