Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, captivated fans with a spectacular helicopter entrance at his sold-out show at London’s iconic 02 Arena.

The breathtaking entrance featured Asake standing on a helicopter’s ladder, captivating the audience as he performed the opening track from his “Work Of Art” album.

Asake’s concert achieved a remarkable feat as he filled the renowned 20,000-seat arena on Sunday. The 02 Arena has hosted performances by some of Nigeria’s top artists, including Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid.

The event was further elevated by guest performances from industry peers such as Fireboy, Tiwa Savage, YBNL Boss Olamide, and The Compozers, delivering electrifying acts that enthralled the audience.

Asake’s sophomore album “Work Of Art,” released in June, swiftly dominated major streaming charts, showcasing his musical prowess.

The conclusion of his recent show has sparked a wave of positive reactions across social media, resonating with fans and music enthusiasts alike.

During the event, the artist also paid tribute to the women who tragically lost their lives at his December 2022 Brixton Academy show disaster.

Twenty-three-year-old Gaby Hutchinson and 33-year-old Rebecca Ikumelo lost their lives due to injuries sustained when unauthorised individuals stormed the venue without tickets. While some have praised Asake for his tribute, Rebecca’s sister, Rachael (@racheliku_), expressed strong criticism.

She lamented Asake’s lack of communication with her family since the incident. She disapproved of his decision to hold another London concert where her sister’s videos were played as a ‘tribute.’

“What a sorry excuse of a ‘tribute’ from @asakemusik,” she said on her X account.

“My sister lost her life at your show, and you haven’t spoken to a single member of my family since. But you can hold another concert in London less than nine months later and play her videos as a ‘tribute’?” she added.
