The Association of Certified Protocol Practitioners in Nigeria (ACPPN) has commended Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the establishment of a diaspora agency in Lagos.

ACPPN president, Michael Ikinbor, in a statement issued by the association’s public relations officer, Olatutu Oladunni, described the development as a kind consideration of inclusivity and spectacular level of progress for national economy value.

Mr Sanwo-Olu recently created a diaspora office in Lagos to address the interests and welfare of indigenes in the diaspora.

Mr Ikinbor said the agency was also a recognition of the vital role that ACPPN had played towards the development of the nation’s economy, especially in Lagos, the economic and commercial nerve centre of the nation.

“It is important for the federal government to continue to maintain a smoother working relationship with Lagos, being the state that holds the highest economic value with a massive annual revenue being generated.

“The establishment of the Diaspora Agency will give a wider opportunity for Lagos to focus more on the good interest of Lagosians and her indigenes in diaspora, which will strengthen diplomatic engagements that will promote global recognition for Nigerians and for the country,” he said.

According to Mr Ikinbor, the development is a significant contribution to corporate advancement that will boost better relationships and fast-track development in the state with its diasporans.

He urged the governor to work closely with every stakeholder in the diplomatic spheres, where protocol and diplomacy took centre stage.

Mr Ikinbor explained that working with certified protocol practitioners would take the state government to a better global growth of integration and incorporation regardless of the atmospheric conditions.

He also called on other state governments to encourage their protocol officers to become members of ACPPN for effective professionalism, certification and global recognition.
