Aston Villa have sacked their head coach
Steven Gerrard following defeat to Fulham on Thursday.

The club announced Gerrard’s exit from the club in a statement shortly after Fulham defeated them 3-0 in the English Premier League game on Thursday.

“Aston Villa Football Club can confirm that head coach Steven Gerrard has left the club with immediate effect,” part of the statement said.

“We would like to thank Steven for his hard work and commitment and wish him well for the future,” it added.

Gerrard, a former England International and Liverpool legend, returned to the EPL to coach Aston Villa in the beginning of the season.

Aston Villa are 17th on the EPL log, two points from relegation zone. Under Gerrard’s watch, they have garnered only nine points in 11 games.
