Atiku formally joins ADC, registers with party in Adamawa

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), months after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over an unresolved crisis.
Mr Abubakar formally registered as a member of the ADC in Adamawa on Monday.
In a post on his verified handle on X, the former vice president wrote, “It is official,” posting pictures and videos of his registration amid cheers from supporters.
Mr Atiku’s formal registration with the ADC came after the politician dumped the PDP in July, citing a departure from the opposition party’s founding principles.
His latest move strengthens the coalition party, initially endorsed by politicians including Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, David Mark, and others, as a platform to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
