Bandits kidnap Civil Defence intelligence chief’s wife

Victoria Dandaura, wife of the head of the Special Intelligence Squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

NSCDC spokesman Olusola Odumosu confirmed the abduction in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

Mr Odumosu revealed that the incident happened at the victim’s residence in Gidi-Gidi, around Cattle market, Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Wednesday at about 7:00 p.m.

He said: “unknown gunmen stormed the residence of Deputy Commandant, Apollos Dandaura, and took control of the environment by shooting sporadically in the air and thereafter whisked the wife away at gun point.

“She was kidnapped inside her living room and taken away without any traces for now.”

Mr Odumosu said that Mr Dandaura’s brother, a personnel of the Corps serving in Nasarawa State Command, ASC1 Ezekiel Dandaura, was shot during the attack.

“He sustained gunshot injuries in the cause of the attack and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital facility,” the spokesman said.
