Tom Takpatore, the senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Garki, Abuja, has urged Nigerians to seek divine intervention for solutions to the security and economic conditions in the country.

Mr Takpatore made the call in an interview with journalists on the sidelines of the 2024 White Robe Sunday service in Abuja.

The senior pastor said the country’s deteriorating security and economic conditions could not be addressed by the government alone.

He urged Nigerians to rely solely on God for timely intervention in the present challenges in the country.

“The insecurity, economic meltdown and poverty in the country are beyond what the government alone can address.

“It will take the collective prayers of righteous Christians to bring the country out of these predicaments,” he said.

Another cleric, Adenike Takpatore, expressed confidence that Nigeria would experience rapid development and peace in the new year.

She said the annual programme was organised to seek the face of God for divine intervention in 2024 for Nigeria.

Ms Takpatore said the church, as a body, had been fasting and praying for the Church of God, for the peace of FCT and the nation.
