Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have been named the best club ahead of La Liga club Real Madrid and Premier side Manchester City.

UK-based site Safe Betting Sites reached its global Football Power Index rankings after studying each club’s data output during matches, including goals scored, adjusted goals, shot-based expected goals, and non-shot expected goals.

The analysis results are offensive and defensive ratings for each team, which are then converted to an overall score on the Football Power Index.

Bayern, who won its record-breaking tenth consecutive league title last year, racked up a Power Index of 92.6 points out of 100 to emerge as the best football club in the world despite having the third most valuable squad in the world behind Manchester City and Chelsea.

According to Transfer Market data, the German side rose to third in the rankings of most valuable clubs globally, with a market value of €928 million. They are worth €11 more than Liverpool, €25 million more than Paris Saint-Germain and €90 million more than reigning European champions Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, in the Football Power Index as of January 13, 2023, Real Madrid slipped to seventh with a Power Index of 84.4 points, while Manchester United did not make the top ten after ranking eleventh with 81.2 points.

Surprisingly, Newcastle United and Portuguese club Porto are in the top ten, ranking eighth and tenth globally with 81.7 and 81.5 points, respectively.
