Benue polytechnic dismisses deputy rector over alleged insubordination

The Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic, Wannue in the Tarka Local Government Area of Benue State has dismissed the Deputy Rector of the institution, Dr Doris Iorchir, over alleged insubordination.
The dismissal is contained in a letter signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dr Muhammed Ndas, dated August 18, to journalists in Makurdi on Tuesday
According to the letter, the council took the decision during its emergency meeting held on Monday.
The council ordered Ms Iorchir to hand over all official property in her possession with immediate effect.
The letter further stated that the council deliberated on the report of the Management Disciplinary Committee as it affected the deputy rector and established the cases of “insubordination to the constituted authority, arrogance to the rector, use of foul language, refusal to appear before the Management Disciplinary Committee, unauthorised disclosure of official information and refusal to provide some vital documents from your former employer(s) after two years of probationary period.”
The letter added, “The council, based on the recommendations of the Management Disciplinary Committee and, in line with Public Service Rules, approved your dismissal with effect from 18th August, 2025. Consequently, you are to hand over, all the institution’s property, identity card inclusive, to the Chief Security Officer.”
