Bukayo Saka scored a brace at Turf Moor on Saturday evening as Arsenal thrashed Burnley 5-0 on their home ground to move second on the Premier League table.
The win was their second consecutive emphatic victory on the road after they dismantled West Ham United at the London Stadium last weekend — the Gunners are now two points behind league leader Liverpool.
Arsenal began the show as early as the fourth minute when Martin Odegaard opened the scoring for the visitors with a deflected stunning shot from outside the box to give Arsenal the lead.
A few minutes before halftime, Saka, from the penalty spot, doubled Arsenal’s lead before scoring his second in the game two minutes after the break from an assist by Odegaard.
In the 66th minute, Leandro Trossard added Arsenal’s fourth goal in the one-sided game after the Belgian fired home the ball, which Kai Havert failed to make the most of.
Havertz’s moment to shine finally came 12 minutes later, coolly lofting Jakub Kiwior’s assist into the back of the net to seal the dominant win for Mikel Arteta’s team, keeping the title chase alive.
With 55 points so far this season, Arsenal are only behind Liverpool, who have 57 points, while the Gunners are three points above Manchester City but with two games in hand.
