The prosecution counsel, Insp Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on February 28 at about 5:00 p.m. on the Kano Road by Ahmadu Bello Way Kaduna.

Mr Leo said the defendant and the passenger, Victor Frank, argued over the N150 transport fare. The police said during the argument, the defendant used a broken bottle and stabbed him in the stomach.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The counsel to the defendant, Bashir Ahmed, pleaded with the court to grant the defendant bail in the most liberal terms.
