Nigerian champions Bayelsa Queens and Ghanaian outfit Ampem FC will lock horns in the final of the ongoing WAFU Zone B CAF Women Champions League qualifiers, Côte d’Ivoire, on Saturday.

Bayelsa Queens thrashed Espoir Ladies of Benin Republic 6-0 on Wednesday to book their spot in the final of the zonal qualifying tournament, while Ampem FC defeated Ivory Coast’s African Sport 6-5 on penalties to advance to the final.

Both teams have put on an impressive performance in the tournament so far, and they have yet to lose any match.

The reigning Nigeria Women’s Football League champions, Bayelsa Queens, have won three and drawn one out of their four matches in the tournament so far.

The Prosperity Girls have also scored the most goals in the qualifying tournament. They have scored fourteen goals and conceded just one.

Meanwhile, Ampem FC split their wins and draws equally. They have won two and drawn two of their four matches in the tournament.

The two-time Ghana Women’s Football League winners are way behind their Nigerian counterparts in the number of goals scored in the competition.

They have only managed to score five times in the tournament.

Irrespective of the match’s outcome on Saturday, both teams have secured qualification to the main tournament of the 2022 CAF Champions League scheduled for October to November in Morocco.

The match will take place by 6:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Yamoussoukro Stadium, Côte d’Ivoire.
