Bayelsa Queens defeated Congolese side TP Mazembe 2-0 in their second group game of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League on Thursday night.

It was the Queens’ first win in the competition.

The Nigerian champions bounced back from a 2-1 defeat at the hands of defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in their first group game on Monday in the most remarkable way.

Two goals in the first half of the Group B encounter by Joseph Miracle and Chinyere Grace were enough to secure the Queens’ first win in the competition and the maximum three points.

It is also Bayelsa Queens’ first victory in the history of the Interclub tournament,

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns pummel Wadi Degla in the other game of the group to sit comfortably atop of the Group B table with six points.

Bayelsa Queens now sit second in the group with three points only ahead of TP Mazembe thanks to superior goal difference.

The Prosperity Girls will host Wadi Degla in their last game of the group.
