The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reiterated its commitment to encouraging youth entrepreneurs to learn new skills and create micro-enterprises to boost the country’s economy.

CBN spokesperson, Isa Abdulmumin, urged unemployed youths to grab the opportunities of the CBN Agric Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme to access funds.

He said young people have the hardest time finding new jobs and establishing new businesses to boost economic growth.

Mr Abdulamin reiterated the apex bank’s commitment to promoting business diversification through various interventions in the country.

“It is instructive to state that the bank shall also continually roll out proactive and innovative policies which would ensure that all economic sub-sectors receive the desired support,” Mr Abdulmumini said.

Represented by an assistant director in the Bank, Esu Imo, Mr Abdulamim said the objectives of the fair were to sensitise the public on how the bank’s interventions could grow their businesses and contribute to Nigeria’s economy.

The acting branch controller of CBN in Bauchi, Salahu Mohammed, said the apex bank organised the fair to sensitise the public on the e-Naira, payment systems, consumer protection, currency operations, and other policies initiated by the bank.

Ibrahim Sadiq, state coordinator, Wheat Farmers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria (WFPMAN), said CBN remained committed to encouraging farmers in the country.
