Centre trains Yobe protocol professionals on diplomacy

The International Centre for Protocol and Diplomacy has concluded a two-day intensive workshop to enhance the skills of protocol officers and practitioners in Yobe.
A communique issued by the centre at the end of the programme on Tuesday in Kano indicated that the training focused on ‘Strategic Leadership in Protocol, Diplomacy, Governance, and VIP Management’.
Patricia Kenneth-Divine, the director of ICPD, said in the communique that the training brought together renowned facilitators from both local and international backgrounds.
Sessions covered key areas such as intercultural awareness in protocol, governance and ethical leadership, national and international protocol practices, and crisis management with media relations.
Facilitators included Agnes Bihari from Hungary, chief magistrate Umar Kabir from Katsina, Julius Lambert Nyananyo and Minabai Seibofa, chief of protocol at ShieldField Protocol Consultants.
Buhari Balla also contributed his expert insights on international relations, diplomacy and protocol practice.
The workshop equipped participants with practical tools to uphold protocol standards, promote ethical leadership, manage VIP engagements, and respond effectively during crises.
On his part, Abbas Bizi, permanent secretary for Manpower Development in Yobe, applauded the initiative, saying it was timely and crucial for elevating the professionalism of the state’s public service under Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration.
ICPD operates globally, with hubs in the UK and partners in over 55 countries.
It strives to raise protocol and diplomatic standards through training across Nigeria and Africa, offering tailored solutions to governments and corporations to navigate the complexities of the diplomatic landscape.
