The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, and top commanders of the Nigerian Army will converge on Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, to assess the army’s operations and activities in the second and third quarters.

A statement issued by the Director, Army Public Relations, Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, in Abuja on Friday, said that the army would hold the Chief of Army Staff Combined Second and Third Quarters Conference 2024 from August 26 to 30 August.

He stated, “The conference will provide an opportunity for the army leadership, senior commanders, and participants to evaluate the conduct of ongoing Nigerian Army operations, training, and other activities in executing its constitutional mandate. The conference will also enable strategic projections for the fourth quarter and a comprehensive review of counter-insurgency operations, anti-banditry efforts, and other critical operations across the country.

“Furthermore, participants will gain valuable insights into the Chief of Army Staff’s future agenda for the Nigerian Army. The conference will feature presentations on operations, administration, logistics, and other key events as outlined in the Nigerian Army Forecast of Events 2024.’’

Mr Nwachukwu stated that crucial decisions aimed at enhancing the functionality and effectiveness of the service would be considered during the conference.
