The Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded a 25-year-old butcher, Ibrahim Aliyu, for abducting and defiling a 14-year-old girl.

The police had charged Mr Aliyu, who resides at Oko-oba, Lagos, with abduction, rape, and unlawful sexual intercourse.

Magistrate M.O. Tanimola ordered that Mr Aliyu be remanded in Kirikiri correctional centre, following a motion moved by the prosecutor, ASP Victor Eruada, to refer the matter to a director of public prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

She also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.

She adjourned the case until February 12.

Earlier, the prosecutor said Mr Aliyu and another person at large committed the offence last August and October at his residence.

The offence, he said, contravened sections 260, 141, and 173 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015, which stipulates life imprisonment on conviction.
