The Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Monday ordered that a 41-year-old man, Kamorudeen Akinola, be remanded in the Abolongo correction centre for murdering his neighbour.

Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Idowu did not take the plea of Mr Akinola due to want of jurisdiction.

Mr Idowu adjourned the matter until September 20 for a mention.

The police charged Mr Akinola of Olorunsogo area, Ibadan, with conspiracy and murder.

Its prosecution counsel, Insp Femi Oluwadare, told the court that Mr Akinola allegedly conspired with another individual to murder his neighbour.

Mr Oluwadare disclosed that Mr Akinola, on June 26, at Ajao junction, Ibadan, caused the death of his neighbour, Kehinde Akolade, 41, by strangulation.
