Crystal Palace worsen Spurs’ woes

Crystal Palace beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1, as the London club suffered their fifth consecutive defeat.
Tottenham Hotspur continued their search for their first win of 2026, losing their fifth straight Premier League game to Crystal Palace to end the midweek fixtures.
Crystal Palace thought they had opened the game, as a goal by Ismaila Sarr was ruled offside after a VAR check.
The hosts then took the advantage to get back in the game with a goal from Dominic Solanke, which came from brilliant work by Archie Gray in the 34th minute.
Spurs were then hit with a huge blow as Micky van de Ven was sent off after a messy challenge on Sarr, sending the winger to the ground and awarding a penalty to Crystal Palace.
Ismaila Sarr converted the spot-kick swiftly, levelling the game.
Oliver Glasner’s men made use of the one-man advantage, scoring two goals before the end of the first half, both coming in added time.
Jørgen Strand Larsen increased the lead with an assist from Adam Wharton, and another right before the half-time whistle, Sarr bagged a brace to make it three at the Tottenham Stadium.
The second half produced no goals as the visitors held the game 3-1 until the end of 90 minutes plus stoppage time, making it a tough defeat for Igor Tudor and Spurs.
The loss put Spurs one point above the relegation zone and marked the first time since 1975 that the team had failed to win 11 successive league games.
Spurs face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League next Tuesday, while Palace face AEK Larnaca in the UEFA Conference League.
