Culture minister congratulates new heads of agencies, urges professionalism  

The minister charged the newly appointed heads of agencies to hit the ground running.

Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has congratulated the newly appointed heads of agencies under the ministry and urged them to deliver diligently on their mandate to make the sector vibrant.

The minister’s message was conveyed in a statement by her Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Nneka Anibeze, on Saturday in Abuja.

President Bola Tinubu on Friday approved the appointment of 11 new chief executive officers for agencies under the Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy.

They include Executive Director, National Film and Video Censors Board; Dr Shaibu Husseini, Director-General, National Theatre, Mr Tony Akerele and Director-General, National Council for Arts and Culture, Obi Asika.

Others are Aisha Adamu-Augie, Director-General, Centre for Black and African Arts and Culture;  Ekpolador-EbiKoinyan, Chief Conservator, National War Museum and Nollywood actor, Ali Nuhu as Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation .

Also appointed are Ahmed Sodangi, Director-General, National Gallery of Art; Chaliya Shagaya, Director-General, National Institute of Archaeology and Museums Studies; Hajiya Khaltume Bulama-Gana, Artistic Director, National Troupe of Nigeria.

Mr Ajiboye is now Director-General, National Institute for Cultural Orientation and Ramatu Mohammed, Director-General, National Commission for Museums and Monuments.

According to the statement, “Musawa applauded President Tinubu, describing the appointments as timely to fulfill the mandate of the ministry.

The statement added, “She has congratulated the 11 newly appointed heads of agencies under the ministry and charged them to show professionalism in line of duty. The minister charged the newly appointed heads of agencies to hit the ground running and discharge their duties with diligence and patriotism to ensure maximum contributions to the creative economy.’’
