Business mogul Aliko Dangote said the Dangote Refinery will supply its first set of petroleum products to the market in July, 2023.

Mr Dangote, president of the Dangote Group, proprietors of the refinery, disclosed this on Monday, at the unveiling and official commissioning of the 650,000 barrels per day ( BPD ) integrated refinery project located in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos.

“Our first products will be in the market before the end of July, at the beginning of August this year,” Aliko said to a gathering of top class businessmen at the event.

“Beyond today’s ceremony, our first goal is to ramp up production of the various products to ensure that within this year, we’re able to fully satisfy our nation’s demand for higher quality products,” he added.

The Dangote refinery is the World’s largest single train 650,000 barrels per day petroleum refinery. The refinery at full capacity can meet 100 per cent of the Nigerian requirement for all refined products and have a surplus for export.

Products expected to be produced by the refinery include Premium Motor Spirit (petrol), Automotive Gas Oil (diesel), aviation jet fuel, Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK), and other refined petroleum products.

The refinery was commissioned today by President Muhammadu Buhari, amidst other dignitaries who were in attendance.
