Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three 17-year-old boys for faking the kidnap of one of their friends in Agbor.

The command’s public relations officer, Bright Edafe, disclosed this on his official X handle on Friday.

He said the teenagers were arrested after receiving the N700,000 ransom from one of their parents.

“They conspired and faked the kidnap of one of their friends in Agbor, called the parent of one of them, and demanded a ransom,” said Mr Edafe.

He added, “They were arrested after collecting a ransom of N700,000.”

Mr Edafe cautioned young Nigerians against illegal means of making money and noted, “A cut to success leads to a short life.”

“The sad part is that the parents will start running up and down for them to evade justice. Justice must be served,” he added.
