Afghan police have discovered and destroyed a drug lab in Dilaram district of Afghanistan’s western Nimroz province.

Mawlawi Abdul Wasi Omar, the district’s head of counter-narcotics police, said Friday.

According to Mr Omar, the illicit drug processing lab was discovered on Thursday and smashed immediately.

The official said that police also arrested a drug smuggler at the site of the operations.

In a similar operation, police discovered two drug processing labs in the northern Badakhshan province a couple of days ago and detained two people.
