The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Ali-Biu, has urged the motoring public to imbibe teachings and lessons of love and compassion surrounding the Holy week and the purpose of the resurrection of Christ.

This is contained in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal, Jonas Agwu, on Saturday in Abuja.

Mr Ali-Biu, who congratulated Christians across the country, emphasised that the wanton destruction of lives and property on the nation’s highways, resulting from people’s impatience would have been avoided.

This, he said, could only be achievable if people properly imbibed the exemplary life of Jesus Christ.

He admonished Christians, as well as the general public not to jettison the rules in the course of the celebration.

He said they should continue to observe them in order to build on the gains so far made by the corps, in its mission to make the highways safer for all to use.

He stated, “I urge the Christians to use the period of Easter celebration to offer special prayers for the country. The corps remains committed to sustaining its present successes in road crash reduction.’’

Mr Ali-Biu said the commanding officers across the country had been given directives to be on the alert during the celebrations.

This, he said, was to provide all the necessary support to members of the public and to particularly attend to whatever emergencies that might arise.

The FRSC boss urged members of the public to join the FRSC in its ongoing campaigns for a safer road environment by promptly reporting any road and other emergencies they noticed to the FRSC Call Centre.

“Kindly report through the toll free line: 122 or directly to the studio of the National Traffic Radio, through the telephone lines: 08052998090 or 09067000015.
