Edun hails ex-perm sec for dedication to service

Finance minister Wale Edun commended the outgoing permanent secretary, Lydia Jafiya, for her resilience and dedication to work.
Mr Edun made the statement during Ms Jafiya’s retirement dinner in Abuja on Friday. Mr Edun also urged the new permanent secretary, Raymond Omachi, to be dedicated to his work.
“She has a tremendous capacity, energy, dedication, determination and wisdom that I have benefited from. She has the capacity to travel round to represent the country, and it is truly amazing, and we appreciate the sacrifices.
“We thank you for all you have done, and we know you will continue to do well. You are retired but not tired. 35 years in service is no joke, it was a meritorious service to the country,” the minister said.
Ms Jafiya said, “I want to specially thank all the guests for making it here today, it has added colour to this beautiful event. To my beautiful family, thanks for all the support u have given me over the years, and I give God all the glory.”
