As Muslims celebrate the Eid-el Kabir, Barau Jibrin, the deputy president of the Senate, has urged Nigerians to pray for peace and security in the country.

Mr Jibrin, who represents Kano North Senatorial District, made the call while speaking with newsmen shortly after he observed the Eid prayer in Kabo, Kano state.

“We should all pray for peace and security in our country. The president is doing his best to address the challenges we are facing. We should continue to support him.

“The current situation is of global dimension. We should continue to support and pray for him to succeed,” he said.

The lawmaker explained that he observed the Eid prayers in his home town to celebrate and connect with his constituents, relatives, friends and supporters.

“The decision to celebrate Eid-el Kabir in my home town is to rejoice and connect with my people.

“As you can see, the people are very happy and excited to see me,” he said.
