Newly sworn-in Governor Biodun Oyebanji says he has committed Ekiti to God’s hands for direction and guidance.

Mr Oyebanji stated this on Monday in Ado-Ekiti during a brief prayer session at the Government House Chapel.

His wife, Folake, family members and government officials attended the prayer session, including the head of service, Bamidele Agbede.

The governor said he needed to start his first day at work with a short prayer session and commit his tenure to God’s hands.

After the 30-minute church service, Mr Oyebanji walked to his office, where he first met with members of the Ekiti caucus of the National Assembly.

He also held separate meetings with Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye, principal officers of the Ekiti House of Assembly, led by Speaker Funminiyi Afuye.

Mr Agbede and top government officials also attended the meeting.

Mr Oyebanji was sworn in as Ekiti governor on Sunday.
