Enugu: Labour, PDP file 14 petitions at NASS election tribunal

The tribunal is expecting more petitions.

The  elections petitions tribunal in Enugu has received 14 petitions so far from aggrieved parties and candidates in the February 25 national assembly elections.

The tribunal secretary, Yusuf Folmi, disclosed this while speaking with journalists on Wednesday in Enugu.

Mr Folmi noted that the petitions were expected to be filed within the stipulated time frame given for the submission of petitions by any aggrieved candidate and parties.

“The tribunal has only received 14 petitions and is expecting more,” he said.

He said the parties that had filed petitions so far were the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), as well as their candidates.

“Out of the number of the petitions filed, 12 petitions are from candidates for the House of Representatives while the remaining two are from the candidates for Senate,” he said.

He said the aggrieved candidates who filed their petitions so far included John Ede, LP; Onwuegbu Anayo, PDP; Okay George, PDP; Cornelius Nnaji, PDP and Festus Amaechina, PDP.
