The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has tasked residents of Enugu State on providing actionable intelligence in 2024 in order to proactively nip all crimes in the bud.

The commandant, NSCDC, Enugu State command, Muhammed Dada, gave the task while speaking with journalists in Enugu on Saturday on collaborative ways to stem crime in 2024.

Mr Dada said that the journey ahead necessitates collective action and a shared commitment to safety; adding: “together, let us fortify our communities against any potential threats.”

According to him, “I appeal to each resident of our dear state to provide actionable intelligence – your eyes and ears on the ground – are invaluable in our efforts to maintain peace and security.

“As we bid farewell to the challenges of 2023 and stand on the platform of a brand-new year, I find great pride in celebrating the unity that binds us as a community.

“Residents’ unwavering support for security agencies has been a beacon of strength, and I implore you to continue standing with us in the coming year.

“In the spirit of cooperation, I encourage you to extend your support to both the Federal and state governments. By working hand in hand, we can build a foundation for a prosperous New Year.

“Your backing empowers us to respond effectively to challenges, fostering an environment where progress and safety go hand in hand,” he said.

He urged residents to be optimistic and determined in the New Year, adding: “Your partnership has been instrumental and with your continued support, we are poised to overcome any obstacle that may arise in 2024”.

The commandant said: “May this New Year be filled with prosperity, peace and the realization of our collective aspirations, Amen”.
