Arsenal yet again was dealt with another huge blow in their race for the Premier League title after the Gunners were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Brentford, who were wasteful for most part of the game.

Following the surprisingly 1-0 loss to Everton in their last league game, Arsenal failed to bounce back to winning ways, thus leaving a chance for Manchester City to reduce their lead to three points given they win their own game against Aston Villa tomorrow.

In today’s game, Arsenal were the dominant force in the first half but Brentford had the better chance of finding the back of the net and came close on three occasions including Bryan Mbuemo’s goal that was disallowed by the referee for a foul in the build up.

Just five minutes into the match, Ivan Toney put a great cross into the six-yard box but Rico Henry, who got ahead everyone else failed to nail the ball before Toney himself struck the crossbar with a through ball from Bryan Mbuemo.

The closest Arsenal came was in the cusp of the first half when the Gunners worked the ball from the right wing, which saw Ben White laying a pass to Granit Xhaka, who in turn knocked it down to Gabriel Martinelli but the Brazilian sent his effort inside the 18-yard area flying wide.

In the 66th minute, Leandro Trossard finally broke the deadlock for Arsenal just four minutes into his introduction to the match, thanks to Bukayo Saka, who laid a through pass from the top right flank.

Arsenal continued their search for a second goal of the evening but it wasn’t too long before they were put back into reality when Toney scored an header in the 74th minute to equalise for Brentford and rescued a point for ‘The Bees’.
