Family releases burial plans for late police chief Don Awunah
The family of late Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Don N Awunah, has released the burial arrangements of the deceased who died on Monday after an undisclosed illness.
Awunah Donald Kumachiviter, son to the late police chief, told Peoples Gazette that his father would be laid to rest between June 8 to 10 in Makurdi, Benue state.
The first wake would take place at 7 Padopads Awunah street, New GRA in Makurdi, while the second wake will be held at Tse Awunah, Agagbe Gwer-West LGA on June 9.
Interment would also hold at the late police chief’s Makurdi home, Tse Awunah on June 10.
Until his death at Garki Hospital, Abuja, on Monday morning, Mr Awunah was the AIG in charge of Zone 16, Yenagoa in Bayelsa.
The Force Headquarters described him as an eminent communicator, ardent officer and member of the National Institute.
Inspector-General Usman Baba said Mr Awunah was a dedicated officer with great passion for training and development.
He was enlisted into the force on March 15, 1988, and has spent 34 years actively serving the nation until his untimely demise.
