FUD gets NUC approval for 26 programmes

The National Universities Commission has approved 26 new academic programmes at the Federal University Dutse in Jigawa, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.
It announced this in a statement on Monday.
The statement said the approval was conveyed to the vice-chancellor, Abdulkarim Mohammed, through a letter signed by NUC’s acting director of academic planning, Abubakar Girei.
It noted that NUC verification teams had visited the university months earlier to assess the human and material resources available for the proposed programmes.
The newly approved programmes include BSc Food Science and Technology, BA Arabic, BSc Industrial Chemistry, BSc Industrial Mathematics, PhD Chemistry, PhD Mathematics, PGD, MSc, and PhD Fisheries and Aquaculture, MFA Master’s in Fisheries and Aquaculture, and PGD, MSc, and PhD Environmental Management and Toxicology, PGD, MSc, and PhD Human Anatomy.
Others include PGD, MSc, and PhD in Human Physiology, as well as PGD, MSc, and PhD in Soil Science and Crop Science, PhD in Animal Science, PhD in Animal Production, PGD, MSc, and PhD in Management, and MBA and Master’s in Business Administration. The programmes include PGD, MSc, and PhD in Taxation, Master’s in Taxation and Fiscal Policy, PhD in English, and PGD in Civil Society in Development.
Then, there are Master of Civil Society in Development (MCSD), PhD Political Science, PhD Criminology and Security Studies, Master’s in Criminal Justice and Security Administration, PGD, MSc, and PhD Biochemistry.
