The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards saw Seth Rogen’s “The Studio,” a satirical comedy, break the record for most wins by a debut series, while ‘Adolescence’ made history, with 15-year-old Martin Copper becoming one of the youngest winners.

The awards ceremony took place on Sunday, September 16, at the Peacock Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, with comedian Nate Bargatze serving as the host.

“The Studio” won 13 awards, the most ever for a freshman comedy series, with actor Rogen winning his first-ever Emmy in acting, directing, and writing.

The show won Best Comedy Series, Best Lead Actor (Seth Rogen), Best Guest Actor (Bryan Cranston), Best Directing (Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg for “The Oner”), Best Writing (“The Promotion”), Best Casting, and several technical awards out of the 23 nominations.

Netflix’s British psychological drama, “Adolescence,” followed closely behind with nine wins. Cooper won the category for supporting actor in a limited or anthology series. Receiving the feat, Cooper said he was “nothing about three years ago; I’m here now.”

HBO’s “The Penguin” won nine awards, the same as “Adolescence,” with Cristin Milioti taking Best Lead Actress in a Limited Series. The show, a spinoff from “The Batman,” follows Oswald Cobblepot’s rise to power in Gotham’s criminal underworld.

Apple TV+’s powerhouse “Severance” took third place with eight awards, including wins in categories such as Tramell Tillman becoming the first Black man to win the Best Supporting Actor category and Britt Lower winning the Best Lead Actress role, alongside other technical wins.
