Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has called out British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua on a title fight for the WBC belt.

Fury holds the WBC title.

Fury had suggested he was considering retiring from the sport after defeating Dillian Whyte in April. But there have been reports that he has been seeking a high-profile bout with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.

In a video posted on his social media accounts on Monday, the ‘Gypsy King’ has now called out Joshua to get into the ring for his belt.

Joshua is still fresh off a point loss to the Ukrainian Usyk in a rematch last month, after surrendering the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts to the same opponent last September via a decision loss.

Usyk will not be ready for a unification bout with Fury until 2023, and Fury believes that fans want to see a heavyweight fight soon and is prepared to fight Joshua first in December.

Joshua has now responded to Fury, telling him to contact his management and that he would be ready in December.

“Yea, calm,” Joshua posted. “I don’t do the online discussions just for clout, so if you’re really about it, shout @258mgt. I’ll be ready in December.”
