Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, David Perdue, Kelly Loeffler, and other close aides of former U.S. president Donald Trump were recommended for criminal prosecution by a special grand jury in Georgia that is looking into Mr Trump’s alleged interference with the 2020 elections.

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, ex senator William Ligon, Cleta Mitchell, Jacki Pick, Lin Wood, Boris Epshteyn and Alex Kaufman were equally recommended for indictment.

Although the grand jury’s final report had been delivered to the Fulton County District since January, it was just made public on Friday in accordance with Georgia law.

Mr Trump, alongside 18 close allies, was last month indicted on allegations of racketeering and subverting the 2020 poll.

However, the special grand jury’s final report, which examined the testimonies of 75 witnesses over the course of roughly seven months in 2022, recommended that Mr Graham also face criminal charges.

It is unclear whether Fulton County District Attorney, Fani Willis, would act on the jury’s recommendation and charge Mr Graham and other persons mentioned in the report.
