German Chancellor Olaf Scholz underlined on Thursday his country’s support for Ukraine as he arrived at an EU summit in Brussels.

Germany is the European Union country that provides Ukraine with “the most financial and humanitarian support, but also with the most concrete support when it comes to arms deliveries,“ he said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would attend the EU leaders’ meeting as a guest and give a speech at the European Parliament.

The meeting was an occasion to send this signal of unity of solidarity once again and to show that we would continue our support for Ukraine.

Mr Scholz said the support for Ukraine was to defend its independence and integrity for as long as necessary.
