Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, on Monday in Abeokuta, swore in four new permanent secretaries in the state’s Civil Service.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, Mr Abiodun noted that the selection process of the permanent Secretaries was based on seniority, merit and the overall interest of the people of the state.

“My administration will continue to build on the foundation laid in the last four years.

“My administration has placed a premium on skills, experience and honesty and will continue to prioritise the welfare of workers in the state,” he said.

The governor urged the new permanent secretaries to work closely with their commissioners.

“I want to urge our new permanent secretaries to please work very closely, collaboratively and cordially with your commissioners. It is only by doing this that you will achieve your set objectives.

“Our government will continue to prioritise your welfare, and I believe we have demonstrated this by payments of various allowances.

“Be it transport or peculiar allowance and all other allowances we met when we assumed office that were outstanding, we have paid them,” he said.

The four new permanent secretaries sworn in by Mr Abiodun were Roseline Jacob, Samuel Oyeleye, Kehinde Akinola and Oladipupo Ogunfowora.

Speaking later during an interview, Ms Jacob and Mr Oyeleye thanked the governor for appointing them as permanent secretaries in the state’s civil service.

They pledged to add value to the implementation of policies and programmes of the present government.
