Governor Hyacinth Alia, on Monday, launched the APC electronic membership registration in Benue, immediately registering as member number 001 statewide.

The ceremony held at RCM Primary School, Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area, signalling a statewide rollout beginning Tuesday.

Mr Alia urged party chairmen and ward leaders to mobilise members, describing the exercise as critical to consolidating APC strength.

He said his successful registration demonstrated broad acceptance and confidence ahead of his re-election bid.

Registration agents, he added, have been deployed to all council wards to guarantee inclusive participation.

The governor cautioned against agitations capable of distorting the process, urging peaceful coordination across wards.

He praised his community’s large turnout, calling it a strong endorsement of party unity.

Mr Alia commended the APC national chairman for introducing e-registration, saying it will accurately measure party strength at all levels.

He also thanked President Bola Tinubu, citing interventions he said have transformed Benue into a major construction hub.

Earlier, acting state APC chairman, Benjamin Omale, said all 872 wards will participate in the registration.

Mr Omale disclosed that three agents were assigned to each ward to ensure a seamless, credible exercise.

State registration coordinator, James Ornguga, said NIN and voter cards are required, with manual capture for poor-network areas.

The highlight was the presentation of the APC membership card to Mr Alia by the state party chairman.
