Governor Nasir Idris, on Wednesday, assented to the N19,867,090,924:00 supplementary budget passed by the State House of Assembly.

The governor signed into law the supplementary budget at Government House, Birnin Kebbi, and immediately, the state assembly presented it to him.

Shortly after signing the budget, Mr Idris lauded the parliament for expediting action in passing the bill.

He said the supplementary budget consisted of projects that have a direct bearing on the lives of the Kebbi people, hence the need for the appropriation to cater for such needs.

“As a responsible government, we find it very necessary to request the State House of Assembly to give us approval of a supplementary budget to execute such projects to our people. This administration is driven by people of Kebbi state,” said the Kebbi governor.

He added, “I must appreciate the support this administration is enjoying from the house of assembly because this government had never asked the assembly to do something that they failed to do.”

The governor attributed the cordial working relationship between the executive and the legislature to the calibre of people in the assembly and the zeal they had in mind to move the state forward, irrespective of party differences.

The governor pledged to carry all the people of the state along in the discharge of his official responsibility while extending a hand of fellowship to the opposition parties, especially PDP, to join hands with him to build a new Kebbi to become the envy of all.
