The Governor of Taraba, Darius Ishaku, has asked residents to support the state government tackle insecurity.

Mr Ishaku also called for extra vigilance by the people to check the alarming spate of kidnappings, killings and other forms of crimes and criminality.

This was contained in an Easter message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan-Abu in Jalingo.

The governor in the message advised the residents to report suspicious persons to security agencies for prompt action.

While felicitating Christians on the anniversary of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Mr Ishaku reminded them of Christ’s acts of compassion and forgiveness.

He emphasised that Christ’s exemplary qualities must not elude Christians as they mark the very important festival of Easter in the Christian calendar.

Mr Ishaku used the occasion to advise politicians in the state seeking election into various political offices to conduct themselves peacefully.
